Composition
Askorbin kislota (C vitamini) 50 mg/ml
Description
Injectable solution of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) 5%. Pharmacotherapeutic group: Vitamins (hazard class 4 — low-hazard substance). Vitamin C participates in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats, stimulates cellular and tissue regeneration, and is involved in steroid hormone synthesis. Determines vascular wall structure and regulates membrane permeability. Acidifies pH at inflammation sites. A potent antioxidant. Non-toxic for warm-blooded animals at recommended doses.

Indications
Complex therapy of viral and bacterial diseases; newborn puppies and kittens with weakness and hypoxia; cardiovascular diseases; oncological conditions and chemotherapy; bleeding and post-operative complications; chronic renal failure in dogs and cats; vitamin C deficiency (avitaminosis).
Usage
Parenterally — intramuscularly or intravenously. Doses are calculated individually (minimum dose: 0.1–0.2 ml/kg body weight). Approximate IV doses (mg/kg): • Horses: 0.5–1.5 mg/kg • Cattle: 1.25–5 mg/kg • Dogs: 0.02–0.05 mg/kg For prolonged treatment, oral tablet form may also be used. Enhances absorption of penicillin and iron preparations.

Contraindications
Individual intolerance; increased blood clotting (hypercoagulation); presence of thrombi in large vessels. No side effects observed at recommended doses.
