Description

Lactic Acid 40% is a syrupy, colourless to slightly yellowish liquid with an acidic taste and a faint characteristic odour. A product of anaerobic carbohydrate breakdown. When given orally, a 2–3% aqueous solution has antiseptic, antifermentative and spasmolytic properties and improves chyme evacuation through the digestive tract. For external use: 1–2% — disinfecting; 10% — keratolytic; 30–40% — cauterizing.

Indications

Oral: prevention and treatment of intestinal inflammation, gastritis with reduced secretory function, ruminant tympany, flatulence, acute gastric dilation. External: ulcerative skin and mucous membrane lesions; cauterization of keratinized deposits, neoplasms, warts, calluses (10–40% solution). Bovine trichomoniasis: vaginal douche with 1% aqueous solution. Increasing egg production in laying hens: 0.5 ml of 40% per 1 kg feed (500 ml per 1 tonne), for 3 consecutive months. Air disinfection of incubators, poultry houses, calf pens: 20% aerosol, 15–20 ml/m³ (in the presence of animals).

Usage

Oral — in aqueous solution not exceeding 2% concentration (per animal): • Horses: 5–35 ml • Cattle: 8–40 ml • Sheep: 1.5–7.5 ml • Dogs: 0.2–2.5 ml • Foxes/arctic foxes: 0.7–2.5 ml External: 10–40% aqueous solution.
