Description

Dosage form – tincture. The drug in 100 ml contains 0.09-0.11% protolaverrine alkaloid and an excipient. In appearance, the drug is a homogeneous transparent liquid of a reddish-brown color with a specific odor.

Usage

II. Pharmacological properties 7. Tinctura Veratri belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group: emetics and chewing agents. The drug, 5-10 minutes after administration, reflexively irritates and enhances motility and anterior secretion in ruminants, and causes vomiting in dogs and pigs. Depending on the degree of impact on the body, according to GOST 12.1.007-76, the drug is classified as a substance that does not pose a great danger (hazard class 4). III. Application procedure 8. Hellebore tincture is used to treat atony, hypotension and rumen tympany in ruminants, as an emetic for pigs and dogs, and also to combat ectoparasites (fleas, lice, ticks) in animals. 9. Contraindication is hypersensitivity to alkaloids. 10. When taken orally, the drug acts in the following doses: – cattle – 5-12 ml per animal or (0.01-0.024 ml/kg live weight); – sheep and goats – 1–4 ml per animal or (0.04–0.08 ml/kg live weight); – dogs – 0.05 – 2 ml per animal or (0.05 – 0.2 ml/kg live weight). Treatment is carried out 1-2 times a day until recovery. Depending on the type of animal, the drug is diluted with water in a volume of 50 to 500 ml and administered orally using a rubber bottle. To combat fleas, lice and ticks, Tinctura Veratri, diluted with water in a ratio of 1:2, is sprayed or applied to the back of animals. Doses of the drug are approximately the same as when taken orally. 11. In case of overdose, severe poisoning occurs with chaos. In such cases, a 1% solution of atropine sulfate is administered subcutaneously at the rate of 0.3-1 ml per 10 kg of body weight. For tachycardia, 1-2 ml is administered intravenously per animal. 12. The characteristics of the drug upon first use and its withdrawal have not been established. 13. Failure to comply with the recommended interval when reusing the drug may lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. 14. Side effects and complications when using the drug in accordance with these instructions, as a rule, are not observed. 15. Interaction information. Herer infusions do not interact with other medications and feed additives. 16. Livestock products during and after use. Cheerleader tinctures can be used without restrictions. IV. Personal prevention measures 17. When working with hellebore tincture, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety precautions provided for when working with medicines. 18. While working with the drug, do not drink, smoke or eat. After handling the product, wash your hands with soap and water. 19. In case of accidental ingestion, give the victim plenty of water (4-5 glasses) and induce vomiting. The antidote for chiropractic poisoning is a solution of atropine sulfate. In case of poisoning or allergic reactions, you should immediately contact a medical facility (have instructions for use of the drug or label with you).
