Composition
Atropin sulfat 10 mg/ml
Description
Atropine sulfate 1% — cholinolytic (antimuscarinic) drug. Atropine sulfate competitively inhibits acetylcholine at postganglionic parasympathetic neuroeffector sites. Effects are dose-dependent: low doses — reduce salivation, bronchial secretion and sweating; moderate doses — mydriasis, increased heart rate; high doses — reduced GI and urinary tract motility; very high doses — inhibit gastric secretion.

Indications
As a parasympatholytic agent; anticonvulsant for gastrointestinal disorders (diarrhea); as an anticholinergic agent; respiratory stimulant; for rumen and intestinal obstruction; antidote for organophosphate poisoning.
Usage
Administered subcutaneously. General dose: 1 ml per 50 kg body weight (0.04–0.2 mg atropine/kg) for 3–5 consecutive days. Doses by species: • Pigs, cattle, horses: 1 ml per 160–250 kg • Small ruminants: 1 ml per 100–150 kg • Calves and kids: 1 ml per 50 kg For organophosphate poisoning: 0.5–1 ml per 50 kg (0.025–0.2 mg/kg). Repeat injections until clinical signs of poisoning disappear. Do not mix with other drugs in the same syringe.

Contraindications
Do not use simultaneously with other parasympatholytic agents. Do not mix with other drugs in the same syringe. Contraindicated in individual sensitivity to atropine, jaundice and intestinal obstruction.
