Indications
Enrofloxacin as a component of the drug belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones. The mechanism of action of enrofloxacin on bacterial cells is based on inhibition of the biosynthesis of malic acid. It causes morphological changes and destruction of pathogenic microorganisms. The drug is characterized by rapid absorption and achievement of high concentrations in the blood serum. The drug has a wide spectrum of antibacterial action against gram-positive bacteria (staphylococci, streptococci, corynebacteria, clostridia and listeria), gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, salmonella, klebsiella, proteus, yersinia, hemophilus influenzae, pasteurella, actinobacillus, pseudomonas, bordetella, brucella, campylobacter) and mycoplasma Enrofloxacin is quickly absorbed from the injection site and penetrates all tissues and organs of the body. The maximum concentration of the drug in the blood is achieved 0.5-1 hour after administration and remains for 4-6 hours, and the therapeutic concentration lasts for 24 hours. The drug does not undergo biotransformation in the body and is excreted mainly unchanged in urine and bile. The drug is administered intramuscularly once a day.
Usage
For cattle, ruminants and pigs The daily dose is 0.5-1 ml of the drug per 20 kg of animal weight (2.5-5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg). Treatment lasts 3-5 days depending on the severity of the disease. For fur animals (mink, fox, arctic fox), dogs The daily dose is 0.5 ml of the drug (5 mg enrofloxacin) per 10 kg of animal body weight. The course of treatment is 3-5 days depending on the severity of the disease. For preventive treatment, half the dose is administered for 3-5 days. To avoid a possible painful reaction, the drug should be administered to large animals in an amount of no more than 2-3 ml per place, and to small animals - no more than 1 ml. The drug is prescribed for the prevention and treatment of the following diseases in farm animals and poultry: Cattle and ruminants: enteritis, respiratory infections, colibacillosis, pasteurellosis, salmonellosis, mycoplasmosis, clostridiosis, dysentery, leptospirosis; In rabbits: pasteurellosis, enterotoxicosis, enteritis, dysentery, respiratory infections, listeriosis, endometritis, runny nose, rodentiosis, etc.; Fur animals (mink, fox, arctic fox), dogs: bacterial diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory tract, leptospirosis.
Contraindications
During treatment, calves and piglets sometimes experience indigestion. The use of the drug enrofloxatsin can cause changes in articular cartilage in dogs of small and medium breeds aged 2 to 8 months, as well as in large, slow-growing breeds - up to 18 months. CONTRAINDICATIONS: The drug should not be used in horses, pregnant female dogs and breeding pigs, as well as lactating female dogs. Use of the drug is limited to cats under 8 months, dogs under 12 months, and large breed dogs under 18 months. The use of enrofloxacin-50 in dairy animals is prohibited. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: This drug should not be used concomitantly with tetracyclines, macrolides and chloramphenicol.
